Our helicopters are as simply equipped as possible so that they can be adapted quickly and easily for different types of flights. Frequently we have to transport patients lying down in the helicopter. Current regulations require the installation of an approved medevac stretcher installation.
Two quick-release brackets are attached to the floor to hold the stretcher firmly in place during flight and make it easy to install and remove.
Under supervision, we apprentices were able to do a large part of the work on both helicopters. Normally we do not do a lot of sheet metal work and riveting at the base, so it was good experience for us.
